Greetings! I am Bretton Fosbrook, an interdisciplinary scholar who examines how diverse stakeholders—from activists to bureaucrats and business strategists— negotiate what counts as credible knowledge. I focus on understanding how these crises in expertise allow for the possibilities of engaging in and informing public and policy debates to more just ends.

I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Gender + the Economy at the  University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and a researcher at the Technoscience Research Unit. I received my PhD in science studies from York University in 2017. Before moving to Canada, I spent five years working in the digital divide tech sector in the San Francisco Bay Area.
